The Cook Street Village Activity Centre is a non-profit organization offering social, educational and recreational activities for persons of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds.  Membership is open to anyone 50+ years, as we cater primarily to those of “mature adult” status.

Built and opened in 1980, the Kiwanis Pavilion is an attractive, comfortable residential facility located 5 minutes from Hillside Mall in Victoria. It is a two story cedar siding building with 10 secure living units, which we refer to as “neighborhoods”. In each neighbourhood, there are 9 to 19 residents, a dining room, specialized bathing room and sitting lounge. There are 7 fully secured courtyard gardens. The building features many amenities and services including lounges, hair salon, library, recreation hall and outdoor courtyards. The building sits on 3 acres of property.

Type of Accommodation: 122 private rooms. Each room has a bed, dresser or wardrobe, private ensuite toilet/sink, room with view of garden or street. Several rooms have a ceiling lift for mobility. Each ‘neighbourhood’ has a lounge with comfortable chairs and television and stereo. There are dining rooms adjoining each lounge. There are six bath spas in the building. Bathing is done with assistance from care staff.

Cost: Residents pay up to 80% of their after tax income which covers the cost of food and accommodation.

Safety/Security Features: There is a Vigil Nurse Call System that monitors call bells, bed exiting, room exiting. All staff carry portable radios for quiet communication and avoiding annoying overhead paging.
